Buying a used car in Montenegro
Used-car listings can look similar at first glance, but the real difference is usually in documents, maintenance history, import status, mileage, tires, body condition, and how transparent the seller is before a viewing.
Before you call the seller
- Compare the same model by year, engine, fuel type, mileage, and gearbox.
- Check whether registration, service records, and import papers are mentioned.
- Look for real photos from several angles, including interior and tires.
- Be careful with prices that are far below similar local listings.
Viewing checklist
During a viewing, compare the listing description with the actual vehicle. Inspect paint differences, warning lights, tire wear, air conditioning, windows, brakes, fluids, and whether the VIN and documents match. A short test drive on mixed roads is more useful than judging only from photos.
Start with the transport category and save a few similar cars before deciding which seller to contact first.
